It is located in our newly established districts on a flat land 25 km east of Afyonkarahisar. The municipality was established for the first time in 1956 depending on Afyonkarahisar city center and the district organization was established on 10.09.1991. Çobanlar District has an area of 422 Km² and altitude is 1050 meters. There are 3 villages as well as Kocaöz Town of the district. It is known that the history of the region is similar to the mounds on the Akarçay edge and dates back to the Old Bronze Age. The ancient city of Anabura was founded in the present village of Kocaöz (Felelli). The statue of Artemis in the Afyonkarahisar Archeology Museum was removed from here.
